Dr. Colin Robertson
Colin Robertson is an Associate Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University where he runs the Spatial Lab. Colin's research investigates how novel sources of geographic data can be used in environmental and health research. Growing up in Vancouver, BC, outdoor skating was a rarity, but RinkWatch has inspired him to start.
Dr. Robert McLeman
Robert McLeman is Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he studies how environmental change affects communities and households. As a kid, he learned how to skate on the creek behind his house and on the outdoor rink at Chalmers Street Public School in Cambridge, Ontario.
Haydn Lawrence is a PhD student (Geomatics) at the University of Waterloo. He was born in Toronto, but moved to Moncton, NB when he was a child. His research interests centre around data/information and its use in today's society, looking at machine learning algorithms in the context of capturing spatial data from text. His interests are a smorgasbord of activities; from scuba diving in Thailand, bungee jumping in Nepal, skydiving here in Canada, snowboarding where ever possible, or just sitting back on a snowy night and reading a sci-fi book (nerdy, he knows).
Laura Sente is a RinkWatch Research Assistant and is working towards a degree in business at Laurier. She is especially interested in how sustainable business operations can create positive social change in local communities and at a larger scale. In her free time, Laura enjoys hiking and skating.
